
We have recently published the paper “Scale up analysis of a plasmon-enhanced ethylene oxide production process,” in Computers & Chem. Eng. 192 (2025) which examines the challenges of transitioning chemical process energy sources to renewable, but transient, energy resources, such as solar energy. Our focus is on the scale-up of promising new photo-driven chemical reactions to the industrial scale, and the practical constraints posed by the large solar collectors needed for practical operation of these systems.
